Alan Brazil has a rather different opinion about the Chelsea vs Tottenham clash

Chelsea

Alan Brazil has a strong opinion on this week’s Chelsea vs Tottenham game. The pundit was talking on TalkSPORT, when he made it absolutely clear that he he like what he saw.

Table toppers Tottenham suffered a 4-1 defeat to Pochettino’s struggling Chelsea. The game also saw Pochettino return to Spurs for the first time since 2019.

The massive scoreline however, doesn’t depict the full picture as Tottenham played majority of the match with less players.

A chaotic match

It was truly a chaotic match, with 5 goals, a couple of goals ruled out, 2 red cards and 9 VAR checks.

Christian Romero was sent off in the 33rd minute, giving away a penalty which Cole Palmer scored. Destiny Udogie was then showed a second yellow in the 55th minute, reducing Spurs to 9 men with 35 minutes plus added time still to play. To put it into perspective, Chelsea scored 3 of their 4 goals against a 9-men Tottenham.

While the scoreline makes it look like a great game, Alan Brazil definately has a different opinion.

Brazil labels Chelsea vs Tottenham clash as ‘absolute garbage’

Alan reacted on TalkSPORT after hearing that many people enjoyed Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea. “Do you know a lot of people say that [the] Spurs vs Chelsea game was great, but how many hold up? That’s not for me,” he said. “That’s not football for me.”

Ally McCoist then added: “I’m going to tell you something. Did you know there were 21 minutes added between the first half and the second half?”

To this Alan reacted: “It’s garbage, it’s absolute garbage.”

Its hard to disagree with Alan on some points. The majority of first half was just VAR checks. As a result, 12 minutes of extra-time added in the first half itself.

The Chelsea vs Tottenham match certainly didn’t like talking points, but it would’ve been much better without VAR interrupting so frequently.
