David Seaman predicts Chelsea vs Manchester City score

Manchester City

Chelsea host Manchester City at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday in the last Premier League game before the international break.

Both the teams are coming on the back of massive wins and their confidence will be at an all-season high. The Cityzens recorded their biggest win of the season last week as they thrashed Bournemouth 6-1. Chelsea on the the other hand beat then table-toppers Tottenham Hotspur 4-1.

Even though the Blues are struggling at 10th position this season, they have found ways against the division’s top teams. So far they have drawn against Arsenal and Liverpool, and beat Spurs. Facing the treble winners at home will certainly be the the toughest home game of the season for Chelsea, and they will be looking for a way against Man City as well.

The predictions

Speaking on his own weekly podcast, David Seaman predicted the outcome of the Manchester City and Chelsea clash. Seaman said: “I’m going to go 2-0 Man City.”

On the other hand, when speaking on The Overlap this week, Gary Neville predicted Chelsea to record a draw against Man City.

Key battles in Chelsea vs Manchester City clash

There’s going to be several fascinating individual battles all over the pitch this weekend.

Reece James vs Jeremy Doku will be on of those. Doku has been very electric this season, and James is fully fit again.

Gallagher vs Rodri would be another interesting battle. Gallagher has been Chelsea’s best player this season, and Rodri is Man City’s most important player.

The clash would also see Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer come up against their former team. Same for Mateo Kovacic as he comes up against Chelsea. Cole Palmer in particular, who spent the preseason with Manchester City, will hope he can cause a real threat to his former teammates.

The Blues have lost the previous six consecutive meetings against this weekend’s opponents, so now would be a good time to break that duck.
