Eberechi Eze is one of the rising stars in the Premier League at the moment. Speaking on the Sky Sports Premier League Youtube channel, the Crystal Palace star talked about some of his peers.
Eze was specifically asked about Bruno Fernandes and Odegaard. He said that he doesn’t necessarily model his game on these two, but he does really enjoy watching them play.
Eze enjoys watching Odegaard
Eberechi Eze spoke about Arsenal captain, Odegaard and Manchester United captain, Fernandes.
“These two (Fernandes and Odegaard), they don’t play the exact same role as you, but they’re kind of in that 10 space, are these players you’re looking at and modelling your game on?” Eze was asked.
“I wouldn’t say I’m modelling their game on them, but I watch these players and they’re highly creative. I would say my style is different to them, but I enjoy watching them for sure,” Eze said.
How is Eberechi Eze different from Odegaard?
Eze and Odegaard are two utterly fantastic attacking midfield players, but they’re brilliant in their own different ways.
Eze is much more of a ball carrier and a flair player. On the other hand, Odegaard is more of a traditional playmaker who likes to pick locks with his passing and make things happen in a different way.
It’s no surprise to hear that Eze is a huge fan of Odegaard. After all, he’s a world-class talent and any football fan would enjoy watching him work his magic.
Eze’s style, though not traditional, is quite effective. He was involved in 14 goal last season for a mid table team like Crystal Palace. He was on Manchester City‘s radar this summer, as Pep prefers players who had good at carrying the ball. His stats for Crystal Palace look mediocre, but he could do wonders for a better team and with better players around him.
