Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea have reached an agreement regarding his price tag next summer. The striker is currently on loan at AS Roma, and this agreement will allow them to start planning ahead.
After much drama this summer, the Belgian striker signed for the Giallorossi in the final days of the transfer window. He joined on a loan deal but without any option or obligation to make it permanent.
However, Lukaku seems to be happy at Roma, and the club too look happy with the player. Roma would like to sign Lukaku on a permanent deal and reports suggest that Chelsea have put a price tag on the striker.
Lukaku in good form
Romelu Lukaku is playing his best football at the moment ever since leaving Inter Milan to join Chelsea in 2021. Lukaku has shined in the first few months of the season under Jose Mourinho. He has scored 9 goals in 14 appearances for AS Roma. Despite his off-pitch antics, he is continuing to prove himself.
This weekend, he even scored 4 goals for Belgium as the beat Azerbaijan 5-0 in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers. With that, he took his tally to 14 goals in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers, breaking the record for most goal in a single edition’s Euro qualifiers.
Roma keen on signing Lukaku on a permanent deal from Chelsea
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com reported that Chelsea have agreed on a €38 million price tag for the 30-year-old in next summer’s transfer window.
Roma are keen to retain him beyond this season and director Tiago Pinto has started to explore his options in recent weeks. He is keen to see if the club can obtain a slight discount on the agreed fee. However, other clubs are also interested in the Belgian striker. This means that the Belgian striker will once again be a hot commodity in the transfer window.
